This opportunity is for a Trading Director role working alongside the CEO of a well-established fashion retailer with over 50 stores in the UK and an international presence. The client operates within the fashion retail sector, focusing on delivering exceptional products and services. The primary responsibility of the Trading Director will be to develop and execute the trading strategy for the business while analysing market trends to identify opportunities and improve performance.
The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimize product assortment and pricing strategies, ensure effective stock management, and inventory control. Additionally, monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators to assess trading performance will be essential. The Trading Director will also lead and mentor a team to achieve sales targets and business objectives, and build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers.
A successful applicant will have proven expertise in the retail industry, specifically within fashion, and strong analytical skills to interpret data and drive strategic decisions. Experience at the Merchandising Director or Trading Director level is essential, as well as comprehensive knowledge of trading and inventory management processes. Ideally, the candidate should have Board level exposure, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships.
