Description

As Vice President, Software Engineer (Finance and Risk Platforms), you will help shape finance and risk technology in a large-scale, enterprise environment. The role is focused on modernising core platforms, driving cloud adoption, and building unified data systems that support decision-making across multiple business areas. You will combine hands-on engineering with leadership responsibility and maintain strategic visibility alongside technical depth.

You will lead the design and development of cloud-based financial systems while staying actively involved in architecture and engineering. Key responsibilities include designing and building scalable, cloud-native platforms for finance and risk functions; leading data consolidation initiatives across business areas; developing unified data models to improve consistency, lineage, and governance; and building backend services and APIs to support financial workflows and reporting. You will also drive system modernisation and migration to AWS environments, partnering with stakeholders in finance, accounting, and risk to translate requirements into solutions.

You are expected to have strong commercial experience in backend engineering with Java, along with the ability to design robust architectures for scalable systems. The role requires solid understanding of data modelling and data platforms, ideally in financial or other regulated contexts, and experience working with cloud technologies, particularly AWS. Full-stack exposure, including modern frontend frameworks and API development (e.g., React), is expected, as is the ability to lead and mentor engineers while remaining hands on and collaborating effectively with non-technical stakeholders. Background in financial systems such as risk, accounting, or reporting is beneficial.
