The client is seeking a strategic VP, People Operations to enhance its talent function and support evolving business needs. This senior role will have significant influence across the organization, strengthening HR operations, developing a high-performing People team, and creating scalable practices for a complex, multi-state workforce. The position is expected to provide high-visibility partnership with senior leadership on workforce strategy, organizational planning, and business growth, including broad leadership across HR compliance, employee relations, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, and leadership support.
Key responsibilities include establishing the strategy, operating structure, and priorities for a scalable People Operations function across multiple states; building, coaching, and leading an HR team focused on business partnership, workforce support, and employment compliance; and strengthening governance across employment policies, documentation, workforce records, internal reviews, and regulatory requirements. The VP will also establish scalable HR programs and practices, partner with field and corporate leaders on employee relations and performance issues, and serve as a senior advisor to executive leadership by connecting business priorities with practical workforce strategies and identifying emerging people-related risks. In addition, the role will help ensure consistent HR practices as the organization expands into additional markets, leverage workforce data and operational metrics to inform decisions, and provide experienced guidance on sensitive employee matters.
Successful candidates will have 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience in a complex, growth-oriented environment, with strong expertise managing employment requirements across multiple states and developing compliant HR practices for geographically distributed workforces. Demonstrated success building and leading People Operations teams in growing or operationally complex organizations, along with the ability to guide senior leaders on talent priorities and workplace matters, is required. Familiarity with complex regulatory requirements and compliance-driven environments is highly valued, as are strong business judgment and executive communication and influencing skills across corporate and field-based teams. A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, or a related field is preferred.
