Description

The client is seeking a VP of Human Resources / HR Business Partner to serve as a strategic talent advisor and hands-on HR partner to multiple C-level leaders and their businesses. This highly visible individual contributor role is designed to support the executive team as a thought partner, with a focus on organizational design, employee development, engagement, and talent and performance management processes. The work will involve translating business needs into practical people solutions that help leadership achieve goals.

Key responsibilities include consulting with C-level leaders to fine-tune organizational structure, identifying the people implications of business strategies, and developing proactive action plans. The role will assess organizations from a big-picture perspective to shape a strategic long-term view of team structure and composition, while maximizing the effectiveness of performance management and employee development. The VP will provide direct HR Business Partner expertise to leadership, which may include employee relations and ensuring recruiting needs are met, while tailoring approaches to client-specific requirements.

The ideal candidate will be ready to stretch into VP-level scope and bring a proven track record in HR partnership, including success supporting digital or e-commerce populations. Requirements include a bachelor’s degree and sufficient experience to develop the gravitas and influencing skills needed to partner with the C-suite. Preferred experience includes having worked in best-practice HR functions and also in smaller, agile environments where entrepreneurial, “scrappy” ways of working are valued, along with strong strategic, collaborative, and accountable leadership traits and exceptional communication skills.
