The client is seeking a VP Mortgage/Consumer Lending to direct all aspects of Mortgage and Consumer Lending. Reporting in collaboration with the SVP/Chief Lending & Growth Officer, the role is responsible for loan fulfillment, loan quality, and meeting budgeted production goals. The Vice President is expected to be a strategic leader and change agent who can inspire teams and deliver an exceptional customer experience.
The VP Mortgage/Consumer Lending will lead the bank’s Mortgage, Home Loan Sales, and Consumer Lending teams, mentor managers within mortgage operations and consumer lending, and monitor performance to ensure accountability to established business objectives. The role oversees business development and end-to-end loan fulfillment for mortgage, auto, personal, and credit card products, including underwriting, processing, closing, funding, and post-closing. It also manages loan sales into capital markets to ensure revenue objectives are achieved, while maintaining expert knowledge of lending concepts such as rates/pricing, pipeline management, underwriting guidelines, compliance, secondary market guidelines, quality control, and risk management.
The position will establish and manage departmental policies, procedures, and product guidelines; ensure training and processes are effective; and underwrite and approve more complex real estate and consumer loans in line with company standards. The VP will collaborate across loan servicing, loss mitigation, digital banking, marketing, finance, IT, HR, and risk, while coordinating lending activities, promoting services, exchanging information, and representing the client at appropriate functions. Additionally, the role pursues continuous improvement, oversees relevant projects, evaluates staffing needs, recruits and interviews qualified personnel, administers performance processes, supports counseling and disciplinary actions in coordination with HR, and stays current on industry developments including regulatory and technology changes while ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
