Join a leading global financial institution as a Vice President Full-Stack Developer with a focus on Liquid Financing. This role is based in Hong Kong and involves developing the next-generation platform that supports stock borrowing, lending, secured finance, and equity repo workflows across regions. The position demands a hands-on approach, requiring the application of strong domain knowledge, and rapid decision-making abilities to deliver engineering solutions that align with trading needs. Working alongside front-office SBL teams, you will build resilient microservice components using Java Spring, SQL, Angular/React, and OpenShift, and take ownership of features across trade capture, lifecycle, inventory management, and settlement processes.
The role involves reworking legacy code into scalable, containerized microservices and delivering end-to-end solutions that adhere to business, regulatory, and control needs while maintaining secure and stable systems. Responsibilities include building and maintaining application features across the UI and backend, conducting code reviews, automated testing, and ensuring continuous integration and delivery. Close collaboration with SBL traders and middle-office personnel is essential to rapidly address trading needs and deliver production-ready solutions. You will also help shape the platform architecture and work on integration with other systems, ensuring systems remain production-ready with proper monitoring, alerts, and data checks.
Essential skills required for the role include full-stack development expertise in Java/Spring Boot for back-end and Angular/React for front-end, experience with SQL databases and cloud-native technologies such as OpenShift and Docker. Strong object-oriented design skills, experience in refactoring large systems, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and test-driven development are crucial. Additionally, thorough knowledge of stock borrowing and equity finance workflows, and familiarity with capital markets and front-office trading processes is essential. Experience with event-driven systems, workflow automation, DevOps practices, and familiarity with prime financing products is considered a major plus for applicants.
