The client is seeking a VP of Finance & IT to join its executive team and report to the CEO. In this role, you will develop overall financial policies, oversee financial controls and business processes, and ensure financial transactions support the organization’s strategy while complying with applicable laws and regulations. You will help set strategic direction for financial functions across the organization and support initiatives aimed at improving business performance and internal control effectiveness, including involvement in strategic and business development planning.
Key responsibilities include overseeing controlling and management reporting, budget planning and control, treasury management, taxation, statutory compliance, and IT oversight. You will strategize and direct finance-related operations, including accounting, financial analysis/controlling, and treasury activities; lead accounting operations covering general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll, and financial reporting; and analyze financial results versus profits, trends, costs, and budgets through regular and ad hoc reporting to senior leadership. You will also coordinate lender and financial institution relationships, define KPI tracking and action reporting, manage cash flow and variance reporting, and coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
You will oversee tax preparation and compliance activities, including tax schedules, returns, and planning across applicable tax types, as well as work with outside advisors as needed. You will manage relationships with insurance providers to ensure compliance, provide value assessment for potential projects to support adequate returns and efficient capital use, and review legal documents and liaise with lawyers for contracts outside the sales and commercial department. The role also includes building and scaling an accounting and IT department as the company grows and staying current on technology that affects finance-related processes; required qualifications include a relevant degree or equivalent work experience, extensive experience leading accounting/finance functions in a medium- to large-size organization, and proven senior finance leadership; a CPA or equivalent qualification is preferred, along with experience aligned to retail/wholesale or CPG environments and familiarity with commercial agreements, concession RFPs, and retail leases.
