the client is seeking a Vice President, Counsel to join its legal team. The role will provide advice across a wide range of banking legal matters and support the legal review, drafting, and negotiation of banking contracts and related legal documentation. It will also involve assessing deal-related legal risks and advising on legal issues affecting the bank’s services.
The position includes managing internal standard form documentation and coordinating its use, as well as working with external counsel when needed. The counsel will assist with litigation and disputes, particularly related to non-performing credit asset workouts. Additionally, it will support special projects as required.
Candidates must be admitted to the NY State Bar. Experience is expected in drafting and negotiating contracts for a bank, including matters related to credit and financing transactions such as commercial lending and associated loan and credit documentation. Strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively, and fluency in Mandarin are also required.
