the client is seeking a VP Commercial Portfolio Manager to support its commercial loan portfolio by servicing prospective and current customers. In this role, you will help manage portfolio performance through regular risk reviews, financial statement analysis, direct involvement in underwriting, document review, and ongoing portfolio management.
Key responsibilities include reviewing loan underwriting and working with underwriters to produce accurate loan write-ups for approval queues; drafting term sheets and communicating loan terms with borrowers while supporting renewals; monitoring current, matured, and past-due loans and providing recommendations; and identifying revenue opportunities and loan exposure considerations through effective portfolio monitoring. You will also support Loan Officers with prescreening, due diligence, and loan structuring, collaborate with attorneys to ensure loan documentation accuracy, and prepare lending activity reports for management and loan committees as needed.
To qualify, you will typically bring strong credit knowledge and familiarity with lending policies, along with strong analytical, organizational, and underwriting skills. A bachelor’s degree may be preferred, and relevant experience in commercial lending portfolio management (typically 5 to 10 years) is expected; you should also be proficient in common PC software tools such as Microsoft Office. The role requires compliance with applicable regulations, including customer identification and due diligence practices, and maintaining current professional development while demonstrating courteous, dependable, professional conduct.
