The client is seeking a VP, Business Development to provide strategic leadership for a Channels Business Development team focused on global channels. The role will set long-range goals, strategies, and plans to support overall business direction, and will directly lead business development professionals across foodservice and consumer packaged goods (CPG) channels. The VP will also partner with cross-functional support staff, including marketing, culinary, and client services, to align priorities and drive retention and growth of the partner portfolio while meeting financial targets.
Key responsibilities include serving as a lead expert in optimizing business development solutions to enhance market penetration and value. The VP will cultivate and leverage strategic relationships with existing and potential partners to develop licensing and product solutions, oversee sales targeting and lead generation, and lead value-based presentations and solution selling. The role will coordinate sourcing and partnership agreements, including terms and pricing negotiations, and will collaborate with Legal and internal teams to assess and mitigate risks while maximizing return on investment. The VP will also establish and maintain external relationships and participate in relevant professional organizations to gather competitive intelligence.
The VP will direct planning, resourcing, and prioritization to meet objectives, and will drive execution of strategies across sales development, relationship and account management, and implementation of best practices to sell the group’s intellectual property into the foodservice channel. The role will oversee policies, processes, and practices that strengthen the selling approach, cost effectiveness, resource use, performance, and brand value and penetration. The VP will participate in ongoing sales funnel assessment, review financial and marketing analytics to adjust efforts, conduct competitiveness and market analysis to benchmark performance and project opportunities, and build and direct a high-performing team through accountable, ethical leadership, talent development, performance goal setting, coaching, and identification of skill gaps for current and future needs.
