the client is seeking a legal professional to support Global Markets with a focus on equity derivatives, derivatives, synthetic prime brokerage, and ISDA/MCA documentation. The role provides legal advisory coverage for transactions and documentation processes across these areas, including drafting and negotiation support for key contractual frameworks.
Key responsibilities include working with the ISDA documentation team to draft and negotiate ISDA agreements and related documentation, as well as Master Confirmation Agreements, custody agreements, total return swaps, and similar instruments. The role also involves staying abreast of relevant regulations and advising on the regulatory framework, while partnering with other legal team members to support ad-hoc projects and assisting in the management of outside counsel.
Qualified applicants typically hold a US ABA-accredited law degree and have at least 3+ years of experience, ideally gained in-house supporting an investment bank’s prime services and/or equity derivatives desk. Direct experience with equity derivatives and synthetic prime brokerage services—particularly negotiation of Master Confirmation Agreements—is expected, along with strong drafting and negotiating skills and a solid understanding of the ISDA framework; simplifying legal advice for multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment is also important.
