This role is intended to help strengthen financial governance and support the organization’s continued growth and innovation.
As Vice-Treasurer, you will play a key role in safeguarding the organization’s financial health. You will support the Treasurer and help ensure strong financial governance by maintaining an accurate understanding of the organization’s financial position, while collaborating with the Manager and the Board. Officers are elected at the AGM in May and serve a three-year term, or until a successor is elected and qualified.
the client is looking for candidates with sound financial knowledge and an interest in understanding the financial operations of a community-based nonprofit, along with a genuine commitment to the organization’s mission and the time needed to carry out the Vice-Treasurer role effectively. An understanding of financial accounting within the nonprofit or voluntary sector is required, and knowledge of Xero is an advantage. You will serve on the Risk and Financial Governance Committee, help meet financial governance responsibilities, support timely and meaningful financial reporting to the Board, assist in preparing the annual budget for approval, help develop fiscal policies, contribute to long-term financial planning and strategy, and stay informed about legal, regulatory, and sector developments relevant to nonprofit financial governance.
