The client seeks a strategic, collaborative leader to serve as the inaugural Vice Provost for Academic Strategy and Budget (VPASB). This role will help shape academic budget models and academic programming priorities during a period of executive leadership transition, strategic renewal, and increasing fiscal complexity. The VPASB will provide direction on academic strategy and budget initiatives with an emphasis on organizational performance and alignment to the client’s strategic roadmap.
Reporting to the Executive Vice President and Provost (EVPP), the VPASB will be responsible for the development, communication, execution, and management of academic budget prioritization, as well as innovative strategies and initiatives on behalf of the EVPP. This includes aligning academic programming, strategies, and performance with the client’s strategic priorities, supporting cohesive budget and strategy planning and execution, and facilitating the development and execution of the EVPP organization’s budget to promote financial and operational health and success.
Because the client is large, complex, and widely distributed, the VPASB must be an accessible leader and clear communicator with strong financial aptitude and a demonstrated capacity for creativity and innovation. The role involves close collaboration with executive team members and senior leaders across academic and financial functions, including academic deans and chief financial managers, and effective liaison and communication with a wide range of stakeholders across the client’s campuses.
