Description

The Vice-Provost, Indigenous Engagement position reports to the Provost and Vice-President, Academic and is responsible for serving as the University's senior Indigenous academic leader. This role involves providing strategic advice and leadership to advance Indigenous priorities and strengthen relationships with Indigenous communities, students, faculty, staff, Elders, Knowledge Holders, and partners. The Vice-Provost, Indigenous Engagement is a key member of the academic leadership team and plays a crucial role in promoting Indigenous engagement and inclusion throughout the institution.The VPIE position requires a strong understanding of Indigenous issues, cultures, and perspectives, as well as experience working collaboratively with Indigenous communities. The successful candidate will have a track record of building relationships and partnerships with Indigenous stakeholders and a commitment to advancing Indigenous education and research. The Vice-Provost, Indigenous Engagement will work closely with various stakeholders to develop and implement initiatives that support Indigenous students, faculty, and staff, while also promoting Indigenous knowledge and perspectives within the academic community.
