The Vice-Principal Academic and Research at Bishops University is a senior executive position responsible for overseeing all academic operations and providing leadership to ensure program, research, and scholarly excellence. Reporting to the Principal and Vice-Chancellor, this individual will act as their primary advisor and exercise their powers in their absence. The focus of this role is to maintain a strong commitment to effective instruction, a growing research culture, and a collegial style of institutional governance.The successful candidate will work closely with the Principal and Vice-Chancellor to steer the core academic operations of the University and ensure a continuing focus on the pursuit of excellence. They will be responsible for creating an accessible, responsive, and innovative learning environment that prepares students for the world through strong disciplinary programs, collaboration across disciplines, research and creativity, and meaningful interaction with faculty and staff. The Vice-Principal Academic and Research will play a key role in maintaining the University's high scores in student engagement and quality of educational experience in Canada.
