The client is seeking a Vice President, Worksite Sales to lead and expand its voluntary benefits distribution channel. This senior leadership role will provide strategic oversight of the sales team, drive business growth initiatives, and cultivate strong client and broker relationships. The position blends strategic planning with hands-on execution, aligning sales efforts with corporate objectives and supporting the company’s mission to deliver value to clients and strengthen market positioning.
Key responsibilities include leading and managing a team of more than 10 external wholesalers through coaching, performance management, goal setting, and accountability. The role will develop and implement the worksite distribution strategy, including setting annual objectives for production, persistence, and profitability in collaboration with senior leadership. The Vice President will drive sales growth by expanding existing broker relationships, securing new distribution partners, and maintaining visibility within the worksite and voluntary benefits ecosystem, while also overseeing the department’s budget to ensure financial targets are met and expenses managed effectively.
The Vice President will partner cross-functionally with internal teams to enhance the distributor and customer experience, streamline operations, and support product development initiatives. The role will also represent the organization externally to build market presence, influence industry conversations, and gather insights to inform business strategy, and participate in enterprise leadership forums to align departmental goals with organizational objectives. Requirements include 10+ years of worksite or voluntary benefits sales leadership experience, demonstrated success leading wholesaler and distribution teams, a proven track record exceeding sales targets and developing distribution partnerships (particularly in middle market and small group segments), hands-on talent development, a preferred bachelor’s degree, strong stakeholder management and strategic influence, financial literacy, and the ability to make timely decisions while managing multiple priorities across functions and external partners.
