Description

The client is seeking a VP of Tax to lead the global income tax function across multiple jurisdictions. This executive leadership role will drive tax strategy, compliance, reporting, transfer pricing, and tax planning initiatives, and will serve as a key business partner to Finance, Treasury, Legal, FP&A, and Corporate Development. The role focuses on strategic leadership for domestic and international tax matters and on improving tax processes and operating models.

Responsibilities include leading income tax accounting and financial reporting under ASC 740, managing quarterly and annual tax provisions and related disclosures, and presenting tax results, effective tax rate analysis, and key tax matters to executive leadership and relevant oversight stakeholders. The role also oversees monthly close activities, tax account reconciliations, internal controls, and audit support. In addition, the VP of Tax will develop strategies to reduce cash taxes and optimize the effective tax rate, evaluate planning opportunities and tax incentives, monitor legislative developments impacting global tax reform, and support major business initiatives such as investments, restructurings, and acquisitions.

The VP of Tax will oversee global tax compliance and tax controversy activities, including filing calendars, returns, extensions, and estimated payments, as well as audit and dispute resolution efforts and foreign withholding tax coordination. The role leads global transfer pricing strategy, documentation, and compliance, partners with Treasury on intercompany funding and settlement activities, and provides cross-border tax support for international operations. The VP of Tax also provides tax leadership for mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and restructuring transactions, and will mentor and develop tax professionals by establishing governance standards, best practices, efficient operating models, and a high-performance culture.
