Description

The client is a nonprofit organization supporting and empowering America’s athletes. It serves as the National Olympic and National Paralympic organization for the United States, fielding U.S. teams for Olympic, Paralympic, Youth Olympic, Pan American, and Parapan American Games, and stewarding the Olympic and Paralympic Movements in the country. It also supports National Governing Bodies of Sport, providing high-performance services and direct athlete stipends and grants to help offset training, travel, and competition costs.

The client relies on philanthropic and donor support to fund its Olympic and Paralympic programs and has established a dedicated fundraising arm within its development efforts. With major upcoming Games on the horizon, the fundraising organization is expanding its philanthropy team with a focus on building a durable donor base of major-, principal-, and campaign-gift contributors to sustain Team USA beyond any single Games cycle.

The client is hiring a Vice President, Philanthropic Giving–Central to oversee a robust philanthropic giving program across the Central region of the United States, including major, principal, and campaign giving. This senior leadership role reports to the President and Chief Development Officer, manages geographically based Philanthropic Giving Officers, and collaborates with other development leaders to achieve revenue goals as operations scale. The Vice President also maintains a personal portfolio of select prospects and donors with a giving capacity of $5M+ and serves in an executive capacity to support the organization’s comprehensive fundraising campaign.
