The client, a leading global pharmaceutical company based in China, is seeking a Vice President or Sr Vice President of Medicinal Chemistry to lead their Discovery Chemistry organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining and implementing medicinal chemistry strategies to drive innovation and success across the early pipeline. They will oversee multiple discovery-stage projects, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and lead a high-performing medicinal chemistry team.
The successful applicant will have a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or a related discipline, along with 15-20 years of industry experience. They must have a strong track record of bringing assets from innovation to PCC/IND stage and leading discovery chemistry functions across therapeutic areas. Excellent communication, critical thinking, and strategic leadership skills are required, along with prior managerial experience. Experience working in both biotech and large pharma settings is a plus.
