The client is seeking a Vice President of Tax to lead its tax function and serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership. This role oversees complex tax matters, supports business initiatives, and helps drive the continued evolution of the finance organization. The Vice President of Tax will provide executive-level input on tax risk, planning opportunities, and regulatory developments while building strong cross-functional partnerships.
Key responsibilities include leading tax planning, compliance, reporting, and audit activities; developing and executing tax strategies aligned with business objectives; and overseeing federal, state, and local tax matters. The role also supports acquisitions, transactions, and other strategic initiatives, partnering closely with Finance, Accounting, and Legal, as well as executive leadership. In addition, the Vice President of Tax will build and develop talent within the tax function, manage process improvements, controls, and operational efficiencies, and oversee external advisors and key stakeholder relationships.
Qualifications include progressive experience in corporate tax, public accounting, or a combination of both, along with experience leading tax projects, initiatives, or teams. The role requires knowledge of tax compliance, reporting, and planning concepts, and exposure to transactions and strategic business activities is preferred. Strong communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills are essential, and advanced tax or accounting credentials such as a CPA are a plus.
