the client is seeking an experienced Vice President of Sales North America to help drive omnichannel growth and transformation for an established international consumer products company serving arts & crafts customers through both online and offline retail channels. This role will be a key member of the management team, supporting sales strategy development and execution to meet customer acquisition and revenue growth targets. The Vice President of Sales will maximize sales team performance by creating sales plans, communicating them to senior management, and ensuring action-oriented delivery against business objectives.
Key responsibilities include developing and integrating a coherent sales development program, expanding the customer base across existing traditional accounts and distributor networks, and pursuing new account development through brick-and-mortar growth with a geographic focus on Canada. The role will partner with marketing to execute new product launches, and work with digital teams and key retail customers as they develop ecommerce programs. The Vice President of Sales will also build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships by understanding customer needs and buyers/end users, while planning and testing approaches to engage customers effectively.
The client expects the candidate to manage and promote sales development activity, oversee recruiting, objectives setting, coaching, and performance monitoring for sales representatives, and present sales, revenue, expenses, and realistic forecasts to management. The role requires collaboration across internal and external stakeholders and the ability to work across multiple levels with key and prospective accounts while maintaining brand consistency. Qualifications include a BS degree in business administration or a relevant field, an MS degree preferred, demonstrated sales leadership experience with a record of meeting or exceeding targets, strong communication and influence skills, and preference for arts & crafts or durable consumer goods experience; other senior sales leadership experience such as VP Sales or related roles is expected.
