The client, a nonprofit organization serving four counties in the region, is seeking a Vice President of Philanthropic Engagement to lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive donor stewardship program. The Vice President will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, and securing new donors, as well as retaining existing donors. Additionally, they will focus on advancing a planned giving program, increasing community partnerships, and facilitating all types of gifts from prospective donors. Reporting to the President and CEO, the Vice President will work closely with the Leadership Team and Board of Directors to provide internal and external leadership on behalf of the Foundation.
One of the essential responsibilities of the Vice President of Philanthropic Engagement will be to develop long-range strategic asset development plans in alignment with the Foundation's goals. This includes raising $200 million in new gifts and investing $60 million annually in the region over the next five years. The Vice President will lead the team in identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major gifts from various sources, including professional advisors, nonprofit groups, and community organizations. They will also oversee fundraising efforts, train and support the team in securing gifts, and develop donor relations and engagement programming.
In addition to fund development, the Vice President will focus on donor engagement and stewardship strategies to build relationships, increase retention, and encourage recurring gifts. They will work closely with the CEO to prepare for donor interactions, develop engagement strategies, and increase grantmaking from current donors. The Vice President will also serve as a liaison to professional advisor and Board committees, staying informed on legal and technical issues related to community foundations and philanthropy. Overall, the Vice President of Philanthropic Engagement will play a crucial role in advancing the Foundation's mission and impact in the community.
