Description

The client is seeking a Vice President of People & Culture to lead the development of an engaging, inclusive, and mission-aligned workplace for all employees. This strategic role oversees the full scope of Human Resources, including talent acquisition, labor relations, organizational culture, performance management, staff development, and compliance. The Vice President will guide a people-first environment while ensuring HR administration aligns with organizational policies, applicable regulations, and best practices.

Key responsibilities include partnering with executive leadership to shape organizational strategies that improve employee engagement, retention, and workforce effectiveness, and leading change management efforts that support growth and cultural alignment. The role will champion diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives and manage organizational performance processes, including annual performance reviews and goal setting. The Vice President will also oversee HR administration tasks such as recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, training, compensation practices, compliance, and HR metrics, reporting, and analytics to inform leadership decisions.

The client’s Vice President of People & Culture will serve as the primary point of contact for labor relations in a mixed union and non-union environment, building collaborative relationships with union representatives while safeguarding operational needs. This includes overseeing contract negotiations, grievance resolution, and collective bargaining processes, and ensuring HR practices adhere to labor agreements and employment law. Additional responsibilities include guiding talent attraction, hiring, training, and retention efforts; supporting development and training initiatives; ensuring compliance with employment laws; overseeing workplace investigations and risk mitigation; and managing HR technology and systems to maintain data integrity and operational efficiency, along with occasional weekend or holiday coverage as a senior supervisor.
