The client is seeking a Vice President of Marketing & Communications to shape and lead the marketing and communications strategy for a high-momentum nonprofit entering a major new chapter. The organization is Brooklyn-based and focused on reducing overcrowded animal shelters in New York City and preventing more cats from ending up on the street, supported by affordable veterinary care, spay/neuter access, and community outreach.
In this senior leadership role, the VP will report to the Executive Director and oversee an integrated marketing and communications function spanning brand and messaging, digital and editorial, paid/growth initiatives, and communications planning. The position is responsible for setting higher goals, designing the strategy, and expanding reach using a broader tool set, including paid media, to connect with more people who are motivated to support the mission.
The ideal candidate will be able to assess what currently exists, define the future of the function, and build the team, along with establishing the systems and processes needed for scale. The client values leaders who can translate strong storytelling into measurable engagement and support continued growth through both organic and paid marketing efforts.
