The client seeks a Vice President of Institutional Advancement to direct all aspects of advancement, including development, alumni affairs, and related events. This senior leader will work closely with executive leadership and communications and marketing to build and manage a highly impactful fundraising program, and to foster a holistic culture of philanthropy across the institution.
The role is responsible for defining the strategic direction of the philanthropic enterprise by building and managing the infrastructure and operations needed to support advancement goals. The Vice President will align institutional advancement work with academic and research units, faculty, programs, and facilities to maximize philanthropic outcomes, and will oversee planning and execution of initiatives that enhance understanding, acceptance, and support for the client among its constituencies through coordinated marketing and communications efforts, including media relations, internal and external publications, and digital channels.
The Vice President is expected to oversee fundraising efforts that generate $30 to $35 million annually through major gifts, annual campaigns, bequests, events, and grantsmanship. The leader will support and mentor a centralized team of approximately five, providing guidance, training, performance monitoring, and modeling collaborative partnerships across administrative, academic, and programmatic leaders to ensure centralized initiatives complement unit- and campus-based fundraising and that advancement vision and goals are advanced through coordinated activities.
