The client is seeking a Vice President of Global Procurement to lead a global procurement function and implement a global strategy in support of company growth, including through mergers and acquisitions. This executive will oversee a procurement team across the Americas, Europe, and Asia and serve as a strategic partner to regional P&L leaders and the broader executive leadership team.
Key responsibilities include developing, implementing, and executing a global 3–5 year procurement strategy and leading both indirect and direct procurement globally. The role will drive operational steering through clear goal setting and execution, ensure procurement strategies align with organization-wide goals, and collaborate cross-functionally with areas such as supply chain, commercial, product development, R&D, and other stakeholders to support sourcing, quality, delivery, risk assessment, cost, and execution.
The VP will advance supplier relationships and act as the face of the organization with global suppliers, maintaining strong communication and alignment across suppliers and internal teams. The role includes establishing and managing performance metrics, staying current on global industry trends and market indicators, building a high-performing team culture centered on ownership and continuous improvement, and delivering global cost savings. The successful applicant will typically have a bachelor’s degree in a related field, with a master’s degree preferred, extensive procurement and strategic sourcing experience in manufacturing/industrial/chemical settings, and demonstrated global leadership experience; they should also possess strong strategic thinking, analytical and financial acumen, negotiation skills, and the ability to inspire, unify, and navigate complex, fast-paced transformation.
