The client is seeking a strategic, hands-on Vice President of Finance to join its executive leadership team and provide enterprise-wide oversight of financial functions. Reporting to the President & CEO, this leader will guide strategic and operational finance work, translating financial data into insight to support informed decision-making, long-term sustainability, and stewardship of organizational resources in service of the organization’s mission.
Key responsibilities include advising senior leadership on financial planning, forecasting, compliance, and organizational performance; developing and executing a comprehensive financial strategy and multi-year roadmap; and leading budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling, including scenario planning. The role also involves partnering with development to align revenue forecasting, grant budgeting, and financial reporting across funding streams, and communicating complex financial information clearly to executive leadership, Board members, and program teams.
The Vice President of Finance will oversee accounting operations and ensure compliance with applicable accounting and nonprofit financial standards, leading close processes and maintaining strong internal controls. They will manage cash flow, financial reporting, and core accounting operations (including general ledger and related functions), build and lead a high-performing finance team, and help strengthen financial infrastructure, systems, and processes for a complex, grant-funded organization operating across multiple geographies. The role requires adaptability and responsiveness in a fast-paced environment, including aligning to leadership availability as needed to maintain momentum.
