The client is seeking a Vice President of Finance to serve as a strategic finance partner to ownership. This high-impact role sits above day-to-day accounting, driving capital allocation, growth analysis, and complex financial strategies across multiple portfolio entities. You will collaborate closely with executive leadership and ownership, with your decisions directly shaping the trajectory of growing businesses.
Key responsibilities include advising ownership on optimal allocation of cash, credit, debt, and equity across business and real estate ventures; evaluating acquisitions, refinancing, capex, debt structure, and liquidity decisions; and analyzing new store openings, lease-versus-own scenarios, and store-level profitability to support growth. The role also supports real estate acquisition and disposition decisions, including mortgage structuring and property cash flow analysis, while building dynamic financial models, cash flow forecasts, and dashboards to accelerate executive decision-making.
Requirements include prior experience as a VP of Finance, Director of Finance, CFO, or similar senior finance leadership in a privately held, multi-entity environment, with demonstrated expertise in strategic finance decisions, capital allocation, and growth analysis. In-depth experience across high-volume operational businesses such as grocery, supermarket, retail, wholesale, or food distribution is expected, and experience related to real estate owner/operator, developer, family office, or commercial lending is valued. Strong Excel and financial modeling skills are required, along with a proven track record working across multiple entities and coordinating with Controllers, accounting teams, and outside advisors; the ability to clearly communicate complex financial information with ownership, banks, and lenders is essential.
