The client seeks an innovative, values-driven Vice President of Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide strategic leadership and oversight of its financial operations. Reporting directly to the President, the CFO will be a key member of the executive leadership team, helping guide the institution’s financial strategy, systems, and stewardship while supporting organizational growth. This role will advance the client’s strategic goals by developing and implementing financial strategies that enable the institution to succeed in a rapidly changing higher education environment.
The Vice President of Finance and Administration/CFO provides leadership, oversight, and stewardship for the institution’s financial resources, ensuring integrity in fiscal matters and promoting best practices in finance and administration. The portfolio includes Internal Audit, Auxiliary Services, Facilities Management and Capital Planning, Budget, the Controller’s Office, Purchasing, and the Office of Student Accounts. The CFO collaborates with Cabinet members, the Board, and other campus leaders to provide strategic advice and to implement financial and administrative objectives, policies, programs, and practices that support a sound financial structure.
The CFO keeps executive and board stakeholders informed about the institution’s current financial position, works with auditors and the Controller to maintain effective accounting controls, and ensures compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory requirements for financial and tax reporting. The CFO also partners cross-functionally on benefits-related matters, financial aid planning and monitoring, and philanthropic activities, and maintains collaborative relationships across campus. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate how they will incorporate the client’s values into their work, and offers of employment will be conditional upon successful completion of a background check.
