The client seeks a Vice President, Development who will report to the CEO and provide strategic leadership to support the growth of a recognized charitable brand in Canada. The role will help develop the next generation of leaders through donor development and national coordination efforts, collaborating with charter offices to build a National Integrated Development Plan. This strategic leader will also provide oversight of the client’s signature business recognition event.
The Vice President, Development will support corporate, community, and individual engagement that leverages the time and talent of volunteers to strengthen program delivery. The position will establish direction for resource generation by developing and implementing operational plans, processes, and policies aligned with development goals. It will also lead strategies and work plans to engage, cultivate, solicit, and steward a range of prospective donors, including corporate, foundation, government, and individual supporters.
Key responsibilities include participating in senior leadership team success, building trust and effectiveness across the organization, and leading a department performance program focused on results and innovation. The role will collaborate with employees, board members, volunteers, and charter leaders to achieve strategic and operational outcomes, while sourcing and inspiring department staff to meet annual financial and programmatic goals. The Vice President, Development will act with fairness, integrity, transparency, and strong ethical standards, and will integrate national strategies with local charter efforts to ensure alignment and impact.
