We are seeking a Vice President, Data Engineer to lead high-impact data engineering and platform initiatives within a complex, global financial environment. In this hands-on technical leadership role, you will help shape how financial and risk data is standardized, governed, and delivered across multiple business units. You will influence both architecture and strategy while partnering closely with stakeholders to translate complex requirements into production data solutions.
Your responsibilities will include owning key data engineering initiatives and driving the design and delivery of scalable data pipelines and systems. You will drive data standardization and convergence across finance, risk, and treasury domains, and define or influence data architecture, modeling frameworks, and platform strategy. You will also improve data lineage, governance, and regulatory reporting capabilities, working with distributed engineering teams to deliver high-quality, enterprise-grade outcomes.
You will bring strong commercial experience in data engineering and backend development, including distributed data processing expertise (e.g., Spark and related frameworks). You should have modern data platform experience (such as cloud-based data platform tooling) and strong data modeling skills, ideally within financial or regulatory systems. Proficiency in Java or Python for large-scale data applications is expected, along with the ability to design and deliver scalable cloud-based solutions; AWS is preferred. You should also be able to lead projects, mentor engineers, influence technical direction, and collaborate effectively in regulated environments.
