Description

The client is seeking a Vice President of Advancement to help scale its mission by expanding annual fundraising capacity and strengthening long-term sustainability. This senior, strategic, and hands-on leadership role will work closely with key internal stakeholders across marketing and communications, faith and community engagement, business development, and programs to build philanthropic relationships, increase visibility and impact, and expand and diversify the donor base through a resilient giving pipeline.

The Vice President of Advancement will oversee all major aspects of philanthropic giving, including major gifts, foundation relations, planned giving, direct response, and donor relations. The role will be responsible for developing and executing a multi-year fundraising strategy aligned with organizational priorities and growth targets, building scalable pipelines across multiple giving channels, and leading annual planning and budgeting for advancement. The position is expected to establish performance metrics, forecasting, and dashboards to guide decision-making, while personally managing and growing a portfolio of high-net-worth donors and professionalizing the major gifts program through disciplined pipeline and closing practices.

The Vice President of Advancement will strengthen donor progression by integrating major, mid-level, and planned giving into a cohesive donor lifecycle strategy and will serve as a leader within the external relations function and the organization’s senior leadership team. The role includes providing strategic counsel to executive leadership and select board members, leading departmental transformation with cultural fluency aligned to the organization’s faith-based identity, recruiting and developing a high-performing advancement team, serving as an ambassador to donors and institutional funders, and modernizing customer relationship management, analytics, and reporting infrastructure to enable timely, actionable insights.
