Description

The client is seeking a Vice President for University Advancement to provide vision, inspiration, leadership, planning, and management for University Advancement in support of the institutional mission and priorities. This executive role will lead the University Advancement Division, with responsibility for philanthropy, alumni engagement, advancement operations, marketing and strategic communications, and the university foundation. The Vice President will coordinate advancement initiatives across administrators, faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community partners to support institutional priorities, the academic mission, student success, and long-term sustainability.

The Vice President will oversee advancement strategy and operations, including leadership of fundraising and engagement efforts. The role is responsible for stewardship of over $75 million in assets and for achieving an annual fundraising revenue goal of $10 million. The client seeks a collaborative, trusted partner who builds authentic relationships, thinks strategically, brings people together, and helps others translate a shared vision into actionable outcomes alongside a leadership team that values new ideas and teamwork.

The client’s leadership approach emphasizes commitment to student success, equity, inclusion, academic excellence, and affordability, with engagement that strengthens regional impact and community involvement. The successful candidate is expected to deliver executive leadership for advancement functions and to advance institutional priorities through coordinated communication, relationship-building, and effective planning and management. The position reports to the University President and is based in Rohnert Park, California.
