Description

The client is seeking a forward-thinking Vice President, Finance & Chief Financial Officer to join its executive leadership team at an important point in organizational evolution. Reporting to the President & CEO, the CFO will serve as a trusted advisor and strategic thought partner, helping shape organizational strategy and positioning the organization for continued impact, innovation, and sustainable growth. Alongside financial strategy, stewardship, and governance, this role will support the organization in navigating emerging funding models, digital transformation and AI-enabled opportunities, partnerships, investment stewardship, and strategic growth.

The CFO will help position Finance as an active partner in transformation by bringing forward ideas, challenging assumptions, evaluating opportunities, and translating promising concepts into financially sustainable strategies. The role includes working closely with the President & CEO, the Board of Directors, and executive leadership while building the capabilities of a strong Finance function and strengthening its role as a strategic business partner across the organization. Externally, the CFO will build credibility with funders, government, healthcare partners, and sector colleagues by providing financial insight and evidence to inform discussions about the future of home and community care.

The ideal candidate is a respected, collaborative, and forward-thinking finance executive with strong financial acumen, strategic curiosity, sound judgment, and the leadership presence to influence at the executive and Board level. The candidate will look beyond the numbers and view Finance as an enabler of strategy, innovation, and organizational performance, demonstrating learning agility, comfort with complexity and ambiguity, and disciplined stewardship expected of a CFO. As a people leader, they will be values-driven and committed to developing strong teams, bringing a recognized professional accounting designation (ideally a CPA) and significant progressive senior financial leadership experience, with healthcare or home and community care experience (or another publicly funded or regulated environment) highly desirable.
