The client is a founder-led alternative asset manager building a dynamic platform across private equity, private credit, and insurance and reinsurance solutions, with a focus on FIG (financial institutions group) strategies spanning insurance and asset managers. It is establishing a FIG Strategy Group and hiring a Vice President to be a core member of the team shaping how the platform grows, with a corporate development and strategic principal investing focus in the financial services and asset management sector.
In this role, you will lead end-to-end strategic transactions, including sourcing, structuring, valuation, diligence, and execution. Responsibilities include evaluating and executing GP stakes, asset manager acquisitions, strategic partnerships, seeding and platform transactions, and other initiatives that scale the firm and its investment strategies. You will develop investment and strategic theses for organic and inorganic growth, present them to senior leadership and investment committees, and own financial modeling and valuation for asset managers and financial services businesses, including management-company economics and AUM-driven business dynamics.
You will manage advisors, counterparties, and diligence work streams across the transaction lifecycle, collaborate with leaders across private equity, private credit, and insurance solutions on firm-level priorities, and mentor and develop junior team members. The client seeks 6–10 years of relevant experience with demonstrated transaction leadership and progression, ideally with experience in GP stakes/GP strategic capital, FIG or asset management M&A, financial-services private equity, or corporate development/strategy within an asset manager. Strong understanding of asset manager and financial services economics, advanced modeling and valuation skills, and an entrepreneurial, ownership-driven mindset are required, with insurance and reinsurance exposure being a plus.
