Description

The Vice President, Community & Continuing Care for our client is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing regional programs and services related to primary care, home care, long term care, transitional care, palliative care, seniors, supportive housing, allied health, and mental health and addictions. This role plays a crucial part in improving access and flow to ensure safe, timely, and quality patient care, while setting program priorities in alignment with organizational and provincial mandates. The Vice President works collaboratively with organizational staff, management teams, community partners, government agencies, and stakeholders to manage individual and portfolio performance, productivity, and outcomes.

The ideal candidate for this position will have a degree in a related health discipline, at least five years of middle-senior level health management experience, and current registration with the applicable regulatory body. They should have a proven track record of developing and enabling leaders and teams to achieve improved outcomes, as well as a strong understanding of Canadian health care systems and rural health service delivery issues. Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills are essential, along with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external partners.

Candidates should also demonstrate a commitment to reconciliation actions, health equity, and the vision, mission, and values of our client. Experience in achieving fiscal targets, managing budgets, and working within an ethical framework is required. Fluency in multiple languages is considered an asset due to the cultural diversity of the region. The Vice President will be responsible for a team of direct reports, program staff, and a significant budget, making this a challenging and rewarding leadership opportunity within the healthcare sector.
