The client is seeking a Vice President of AI and Machine Learning Engineering to help build and deliver AI-powered products used by a large global user base. This role is focused on product engineering rather than research, with an expectation to move quickly from early ideas to production-ready solutions in a matter of days and get them into users’ hands.
Key responsibilities include developing and scaling AI applications across areas such as enterprise chatbots and conversational AI, agent frameworks and workflow automation, text-to-code applications, natural language interfaces for databases, and internal AI productivity tools at large scale. The role will support end-to-end delivery, including prototyping, building, deploying, and scaling solutions, with an emphasis on autonomy, ownership, and the ability to operate independently.
Candidates should have strong AI/ML engineering experience, a deep understanding of large language models and foundation models, and proven software engineering and system design fundamentals. Experience building applications that use LLM APIs, along with familiarity with AWS, Kubernetes, and distributed systems, is expected. A background in NLP, computer vision, or advanced AI research may be beneficial, but the primary focus is the ability to ship production systems that deliver measurable impact.
