the client is seeking a visionary technology leader to serve as its Vice Chancellor Information Technology Services and Chief Information Officer (CIO). The role is the senior technology executive responsible for architecting and executing a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with the institution’s strategic plan in the context of a complex research university. Reporting to the Vice Chancellor for Business and Finance, the Vice Chancellor/CIO will collaborate with the Chancellor, Cabinet, and campus stakeholders to drive digital transformation, enhance academic and administrative systems, and position the client at the forefront of technological innovation.

The client’s Information Technology Services organization supports the university’s academic, administrative, and research goals through reliable and secure technology, with a mission focused on integrating and delivering innovative technology solutions and processes to facilitate the achievement of strategic objectives. The Vice Chancellor/CIO will lead a high-performing team and manage organizational resources to advance teaching, learning, and research through technology innovation. The role includes oversight of digital infrastructure and the delivery of technology services that improve productivity and support an enhanced student experience.

The ideal candidate will provide strategic direction and oversight for information technology services and digital infrastructure, bringing a blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and leadership capability. They should have a deep understanding of the academic and research technology landscape, including areas such as high-performance computing, virtual research labs and networks, immersive technologies for teaching and research, digital learning platforms, artificial intelligence, and data security. Strong familiarity with emerging information technology trends, along with a proven track record of leveraging technology to drive transformation and collaboration across the institution, is expected.
