The client seeks a highly accomplished, innovative, and collaborative human resources executive to serve as its Vice Chancellor for Human Resources and Chief Human Resources Officer. Reporting directly to the Chancellor, the role serves as the system’s chief human resources officer, providing strategic leadership for human resources across the Chancellor’s Office and multiple campuses. The Vice Chancellor is the principal advisor on human resources, workforce strategy, labor relations, organizational effectiveness, talent management, and personnel matters.
The Vice Chancellor leads a team of experienced HR professionals and provides systemwide leadership, strategic direction, policy oversight, and guidance to campus human resources organizations. The role advises a Board of Trustees and participates as a member of the Chancellor’s Council, working in close partnership with presidents, faculty, staff, labor leaders, and other stakeholders across the system. Through these collaborations, the Vice Chancellor plays a pivotal role in advancing the organization’s mission by fostering an engaged, high-performing, and future-ready workforce.
The ideal candidate is an experienced HR leader with broad expertise across HR functions, including labor and employee relations and civil rights. They must be able to work effectively across multiple teams and campuses, bringing a transformational mindset and a business process improvement orientation.
