The client is hiring a US Sales Director to lead commercial growth across both brick-and-mortar and online channels for a niche luxury candle and fragrance brand. The role manages an agent responsible for visiting, selling, and training a selective reseller network across the US, while also overseeing direct relationships with key online pure player accounts. The position will support the implementation and delivery of the brand’s marketing and retail strategy to drive sales and strengthen brand awareness.
Key responsibilities include monitoring global revenue and operational margin by distribution channel, developing a regional commercial strategy with emphasis on distribution quality, efficient sales support, catalog management, and launch execution. The role will accelerate the retail strategy by overseeing the relocation/reopening of a boutique in New York and the opening of a new boutique in LA, ensuring merchandising is executed effectively, recruiting appropriate staff, and supporting store managers in meeting defined KPIs covering sales targets, incentives, stock management, and customer service. It will also oversee the DTC strategy together with a marketing team in Paris, including fulfillment operations in the New York area.
The director will supervise launch and product portfolio management by ensuring retail and partner readiness through appropriate POS materials, support coordination with a local PR agency in partnership with the Paris team, and manage a third-party logistics partner to ensure customer satisfaction. Longer term, the role will help optimize investment strategy for social media traffic to the online store and may support the opening of additional boutiques. Requirements include demonstrated sales development experience in the selective luxury sector (such as high-end fragrance, cosmetics, or luxury accessories), familiarity with multiple US distribution channels including department stores and online, strong entrepreneurial drive, high organization and multi-area involvement, interpersonal leadership skills, and the ability to analyze performance with strong computer proficiency, with regular travel across the US and to France.
