the client is entering the cigar industry with a focus on high-quality products and a bold, distinctive marketing approach. the client is seeking a US President to serve as a key member of the leadership team, reporting to the Founder and taking charge of company direction. This role is expected to support profitable operations by aligning marketing, sales, public relations, and overall business execution.
Key responsibilities include developing and executing marketing strategy to attract customers and meet business goals, and building sales strategy across online channels, retail, and wholesale to support financial and performance targets. the US President will also manage and develop a sales team by setting goals and guiding performance, oversee customer relationships and identify opportunities based on customer needs, and pursue new business development opportunities while maintaining alignment with company objectives. additional responsibilities may include organizing and improving events that showcase the company’s products, supporting public relations by managing the company’s image and media interactions, and sometimes serving as a spokesperson.
Additional duties may include monitoring market trends and competitor activity to inform business decisions, overseeing supply chain execution from product sourcing through inventory management and customer delivery, and managing financial responsibilities such as budgeting and disciplined spending. The ideal candidate will have leadership experience with a background in marketing and sales, strong public speaking and relationship-building skills, clear communication and team leadership capability, and the ability to handle financial tasks with data-driven decision-making. relevant experience in the tobacco industry or other regulated categories such as wine & spirits or cannabis is expected, along with adaptability to market changes; a bachelor’s degree in a related field is required, and a master’s degree is a plus.
