the client is seeking a CPG executive to lead the next phase of its US expansion for a beauty brand. The role focuses on building and scaling the US business, including growing direct-to-consumer sales, developing the brand’s online presence and social media capabilities with support from the headquarters team, and opening key retail accounts by leveraging the brand’s European success and the shareholders’ network.
The ideal candidate is an experienced ecommerce and DTC (direct-to-consumer) leader who can operate as a near-solo contributor for approximately the first year. Wholesale distribution is expected to be guided largely by headquarters, while the candidate is expected to drive overall business momentum through entrepreneurial leadership in a startup-like environment where the team is still being formed and will need to be built over time.
Requirements include substantial experience in CPG (beauty and related categories), at least several years in ecommerce with meaningful DTC experience, and prior profit and loss (P&L) responsibility. A bilingual French and English capability is a strong plus, and prior leadership experience in roles such as general manager, managing director, country manager, COO, chief operating officer, or CEO/COO-equivalent positions is preferred.
