the client is a global pharmaceutical business with a strong pipeline and an early growth US operation. The US business is supported by a shared services model for finance operations, with key support provided by an established team based in India, while the US function focuses on strategic oversight and business partnering. In this highly visible role, the US Finance Controller will align closely with global finance leadership and act as the primary finance partner to the US commercial team.
As US Finance Controller, you will take full ownership of finance operations for the growing US business. Responsibilities include overseeing end-to-end finance operations; serving as the key link between the US sales team and the India-based finance team; delivering insightful data analysis to support commercial decision making; and managing budgeting, forecasting, and detailed variance analysis. You will also drive gross profit margin analysis, identify performance gaps, and support pricing strategy, contract management, and invoicing activities.
You will ensure compliance with US GAAP, taxation, and regulatory requirements, and enhance internal controls to support audit readiness. Additional responsibilities include coordinating with global finance leadership and the India team for consolidation and reporting, reviewing accounting processes such as AR, AP, and banking through shared services, and communicating financial performance and profitability to senior leadership. The role is expected to be performed as a standalone senior finance leader, and the successful applicant will typically have a CPA qualification, 6+ years of finance and accounting experience, strong US GAAP and compliance knowledge, demonstrated budgeting/forecasting and variance analysis experience, commercial acumen supporting sales teams, and experience working with global teams and shared services; prior pharmaceutical or healthcare experience may be preferred, along with strong communication skills in a fast-paced environment.
