Description

The client is seeking a new Trustee to strengthen its Board’s capacity in fundraising, nonprofit leadership, and strategic relationship development. The role supports the organization’s mission of using storytelling to build empathy and promote youth wellbeing through programs such as storytelling events, community initiatives, and scaled initiatives. The Trustee will help advance the organization’s strategic direction, including sustainable growth, increasing reach and impact, and supporting fundraising efforts.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the not-for-profit or charity sector and an understanding of the operating environment, opportunities, and challenges facing nonprofit organizations. Experience in fundraising, philanthropy, corporate partnerships, grant-making, or income generation is particularly valuable, including the ability to identify funding opportunities, build relationships with funders and supporters, and contribute to long-term financial sustainability. The client will also particularly value knowledge of relevant government departments and public-sector stakeholders, and leadership through strong partnerships to support growth.

Key responsibilities include providing strategic input on fundraising approaches, supporting governance and compliance in line with relevant regulations alongside fellow Board members, contributing to development and monitoring of strategic direction, and assisting with financial oversight to ensure resources are managed effectively under agreed policies. The role is well-suited to someone with strong relationship-building skills, strategic thinking, a genuine commitment to the mission, and connections across nonprofit, education, government, and philanthropic sectors who can open doors, make meaningful introductions, and advocate for the organization in Board discussions.
