The client is seeking to identify potential Trustees to join their Board in a renewal process planned through 2026/7. The role involves championing diversity and inclusion for individuals with disabilities through strategic leadership and governance. Trustees are expected to comply with the charity's governing document, act in the charity's best interests, and manage assets responsibly. They will contribute to strategic direction, policy formation, and governance implementation. Participation in events, training, and seminars, as well as quality and safety Board walk-rounds, is encouraged.

Ideal candidates should have knowledge of key Board competencies such as governance and strategic oversight, an understanding of regulatory frameworks and governance standards, and familiarity with fiduciary duties. Experience in developing and implementing strategic plans that align with the mission to provide housing for those with disabilities is essential. Candidates should be skilled in risk management and long-term planning to ensure housing solutions are inclusive and safe for individuals with disabilities, ensuring their rights, needs, and accessibility requirements are respected.

Applicants should also possess insight into the disability and housing sector, understanding tenant welfare, and managing residential care environments. A commitment to a tenant-centric approach is critical, with a focus on promoting autonomy, accessibility, and integration into the community. Knowledge of property and asset management, including maintaining housing stock and planning for sustainability, is necessary.
