We are seeking three exceptional Trustees to join the Board of a charity focused on epilepsy. This is a significant period for advancements in genetics, data, diagnostics, and personalized medicine. A stronger national voice is needed, and the Board is instrumental in steering this transformation. Each Trustee will play a pivotal role: one in care services, one in finance, and one in research. Responsibilities include guiding strategy, driving innovation, and strengthening governance to help the charity in its mission to improve the lives of those with epilepsy.
The Trustee for Care Services will oversee specialist care for people with complex epilepsy, utilizing expertise in adult social care, commissioning, and regulated provision to enhance standards, innovation, and system leadership. The Trustee for Finance will ensure the long-term financial health of the charity through strategic oversight of planning, investment, and risk, balancing ambition with sustainability. The Trustee for Research will guide scientific exploration, support global collaborations, and translate discoveries into impactful real-world solutions. Each Trustee should be committed to the charity's mission, empathetic, ethical, collaborative, capable of interpreting complex information, and dedicated to improving outcomes for people with epilepsy.
The role requires attending four Board meetings per year, a two-day annual residential, and participation in at least one committee. Reasonable expenses will be reimbursed. This is an opportunity to influence national dialogue on epilepsy research, treatment, and care, contributing expertise to a cause with substantial potential for progress. We encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds and those entering their first non-executive role, driven to create a future where individuals with epilepsy are supported and understood.
