Built For Us PGH is seeking a Treasurer to join their Board of Directors in a volunteer position. The client creates space for LGBTQ+ individuals to thrive by unlearning, reconnecting, and reclaiming their sense of belonging. The Treasurer will be responsible for overseeing the financial health of the organization, guiding strategy, ensuring compliance, and building systems that align with grassroots values. They are looking for someone with financial expertise, community trust, and a willingness to be a public-facing advocate for the mission.
Key responsibilities for the Treasurer include providing financial oversight and support to the Executive Director and Board, collaborating on budgets and financial reports, reviewing grants and donor income, shaping internal financial systems, ensuring compliance, and representing the organization publicly as needed. Ideal candidates will have a background in accounting, finance, business, or nonprofit management, strong knowledge of budgeting and compliance, experience in board or financial leadership roles, a network in Pittsburgh and beyond, charisma, integrity, and availability for a minimum of 6 hours per month. They should also have a deep alignment with Built For Us PGH's mission, values, and trauma-informed approach.
The Treasurer role at Built For Us PGH is a leadership position that requires relational financial stewardship built on trust, transparency, and love for the work. The ideal candidate will contribute to the culture of fundraising, generosity, and shared ownership within the organization.
