The client is seeking an outstanding individual to serve as Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee. As a Trustee and member of Council, the successful candidate will help ensure the charity remains financially strong, resilient, and able to invest ambitiously in its mission amid both opportunity and increasing complexity. Working closely with the Chair, Chief Executive, and Chief Financial Officer, the Treasurer will provide strategic oversight of financial sustainability, investment stewardship, risk, and long-term resilience.
The Treasurer will chair the Finance Committee and support effective governance and decision-making, helping Council balance prudent financial management with the ambition needed to accelerate progress against cancer. The role is expected to provide strategic leadership across financial planning, governance, risk management, and oversight of investments, while strengthening the charity’s long-term financial resilience and ability to deliver on its objectives.
Candidates will bring substantial financial leadership experience, ideally gained at CFO level or in a comparable senior role, along with experience operating at board level. They will combine strategic judgement with a deep understanding of financial planning, governance, risk, and investment oversight, and will be able to offer constructive challenge, influence effectively at board level, and demonstrate commitment to The client’s mission and values.
