The client is seeking a Transaction Tax Director to join their globally recognized accountancy and advisory firm. This role is part of a nationally recognized Transaction Tax practice that is undergoing expansion. The successful candidate will join a team of over 40 specialists who focus on diverse acquisition, disposal, and restructuring projects for both private equity and corporate clients. The Director will play a key role leading high-value engagements, contributing to the strategic growth of the team, and supporting its national expansion.
As a Transaction Tax Director, you will lead tax due diligence assignments for both buy-side and sell-side, oversee tax structuring work, and collaborate with colleagues across VAT, employment tax, and Transaction Services. The role requires strong technical expertise, a commercial approach, and the ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders. Key responsibilities also include managing risk across engagements, ensuring quality delivery, providing input into transaction documents and financial models, and mentoring junior team members. You will also be expected to support key private equity and corporate client relationships and contribute to the wider strategic priorities of the practice.
Ideal candidates should possess deep and current tax knowledge with extensive experience in transactional work, a proven ability to lead complex projects and manage teams, and confidence in building relationships with senior stakeholders and legal advisers. A commercial mindset and a track record of spotting opportunities to support growth are essential. The role requires CTA and/or ACA qualification (or equivalent).
