the client is a mid-sized, family-owned group with global operations and a focus on highly specialized, complex total solutions combining electrical and mechanical components. The production program includes electromechanical switching and control components as well as a broad range of control panels and cabins for mobile industrial applications. Manufacturing takes place at a main site and other locations, while sales for customer-configured and produced products, along with spare parts supply, is handled through subsidiaries and a network of dealers across many countries, with a significant export share. The client places strong emphasis on quality, service, ongoing technological and process development, and investments.
As Technical Leader/CTO (m/f/d), you will be an important member of the executive management team. Your technical department is responsible for future-oriented and innovative research and development, including an area that is partly structured in a spin-off entity. The role includes development and maintenance of new products, patents, documentation, master data management and creation, and responsibility for the product configurator. You will also oversee quality assurance and strategic purchasing, and serve as the top point of contact for all technical topics, acting as a key interface to sales, product management, and marketing, including personal customer contact in problem cases. You will lead a team of nearly 30 employees supported by experienced department leaders.
You will develop product and system strategy derived from the corporate strategy and implement it together with your team through specific solutions and goals under the principle of “design to cost.” The focus of the position is technology research and development, including continuous monitoring of technological trends and evaluating their impact on the group. You will drive strategic innovation management, establish a new, modern leadership and performance culture in your area, and actively cultivate cross-functional interface management. The role also involves using digitalization opportunities to improve processes and acting as a strategic sparring partner for the management through technical excellence. You have successfully completed a technical degree in electrical engineering or industrial engineering, and typically bring additional business-oriented education; you are expected to have several years of experience in leading, optimizing, and redesigning value creation processes in the technical domain, ideally from a supplier environment such as automotive and related industries, or adjacent sectors including mechanical engineering and electrical engineering.
